Advent of Code 2017

Merry Christmas!

Advent of code just finished up, and with it 25 small programming problems. Personally, I thought it was great and enjoyed every moment of it! There were some easy problems and a few difficult ones. The most difficult one for me was day 21, where a gird of “pixels” was to be broken up into 2×2 or 3×3 chunks, operations performed on those chunks to grow them, and the edited chunks reassembled for the next round. I ran into a lot of issues during this challenge, though the biggest one was that I was not keeping my arrays consistent, so elements were swapping places and not going where they should.

In the end, I finished all of it (not without a little help from the sub-reddit), and will certainly do it again! If you’re looking for some programming challenges, I recommend it for sure! If you want to see my solutions for all of the problems, they’re here.

Hope you have a great New Year!
